I just bought a vanilla latte, having told myself two days ago that I need to cut down on drinking them, for the sake of my teeth, body fat and body mass (it slows me down when I'm running) - but I love them SO much!
The good news is that I have stopped adding sugar or syrup to my homemade coffees - but there is a bit of 'substitution' going on here: I use the trip to the coffee shop as a bit of exercise and an opportunity to clear my head after an early start at the desk, breakfast with both boys (2 different sittings lately), the school run, etc.
However, I am also inspired to beat my first ever parkrun (home | parkrun UK) time several weeks ago, of ~21 minutes; not bad at the age of 48! The extra few pounds that I am carrying is largely because of the sugar that I am practically injecting into my veins as I drink this stuff, which is doing all kinds of things to my insulin levels, no doubt. So...
On a scale of 0 [exceptionally low] to 10 [exceptionally high] (brief explanation in brackets):
My mood is a 9 (a walk and a vanilla latte, off the back of a good night's sleep)
My energy is a 10 (undoubtedly linked to the above; hard to separate mood and energy!)
My motivation to stop drinking vanilla lattes: 3 (keep persuading myself that I could have worse habits - which is true)
